| Knights Sports, Sai Club win ties in D2H Cup | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Apr 1: Knights Sports Club and Sai Cricket Club won their respective ties to move into the next round of the ongoing Videocon D2H Cup cricket tournament at Jagti Township ground, near here today.
Earlier, in the first match of the day, Knights Sports trounced Kashyap Cricket Club by 44 runs. Batting first, Knights Sports set a target of 132 runs losing all their wickets in given 20 overs. Rahul was top scorer with 26-ball 38 runs while Sushil and Ishan contributed 15 and 14 runs respectively. From Kashyap Club, Boon bagged three wickets, followed by Raju G and V Raju, who shared two wickets each.
In reply, Kashyap Club lost all their wickets for 91 runs in 12 overs to lose the game by 44 runs. Rajinder played fine innings of 44 (off 36 balls, 8x4) while Akshay and Ajay made 14 and 10 runs respectively.
From Knights Sports, Rahul, Aru Bakshi and Munna bagged two wickets each. For his all-round performance, Rahul was declared man of the match.
Meanwhile, in another match played today, Sai Cricket Club (SCC) registered a 27 runs win over Surinder Cricket Club. Earlier, SCC bowled out for 98 runs with Rahul (23) being highest scorer. Veeru (14) and Mahesh (12) also played well. From Surinder Club, Vikas and Raju took three wickets each while Vijay secured two and Nittu one.
Later, Surinder Club could not chase the target and lost all their wickets for 71 runs in 16 overs. Vijay Dhar (18), Rohit (13), Nittu (12) and Kamal (10) were the batsmen who scored in double figure. Veeru and Deepak Fotedar bagged three wickets each from Sai Club.
Veeru was adjudged man of the match. This match was officiated by Rajesh, Sahil, Vijay and Mahesh. |
