Arms, ammunition recovered at Kishtwar | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 1: Troops of 11 RR and police, in a joint operation, busted a militant hideout at Dugadda in Kuchhal area of Chhatroo, Kishtwar, and recovered a large quantity of arms and ammunition. Additional SP, Kishtwar, Kulbir Singh said the hideout was busted on the basis of a specific information. He said during the search of the hideout, forces recovered one 7.62mm LMG, its two magazines, one spare barrel of 7.62mm LMG, one UBGL launcher, one muzzle loading rifle, 200 rounds of 7.62mm LMG, 342 rounds of pika gun, five UBGL grenades, one round of RPG, two Chinese grenades, two blankets and one bedsheet. The recovered LMG was believed to be the one which was looted by HUJI militants on December 14, 2004, from the Sangpora police post at Chatroo The hideout was made inside a natural cave which could easily accommodate 2-3 terrorists. The Kuchhal area was dominated by HUJI's slain chief operational commander Bashir Ahmed alias Sabha Hujazi involved in series of bomb blasts in courts across UP on November 17, 2007.
