| Constitute delimitation commission immediately: NCP | | | JAMMU | JAN 24 The Nationalist Congress Party has demanded that delimitation Commission should be constituted in the state immediately for carving out new assembly constituencies as per population, area and topography of all the three regions of the state, Jammu, Kashmir & Ladakh. This would address the long pending demand of people of Jammu for providing them due share of the assembly seats. This way stated by State NCP President and former Minister Thakur Randhir Singh while briefing the media persons today here after day long meeting of the senior Party leaders and heads of frontal organization. According to press release, Singh demanded that one more constituency be created in Jammu, in view of its population and area. Singh stressed for holding of Panchayat elections in the state without any delay on adopting 73rd and 74th amendment of the constitution of India to strengthen Panchayat Raj System in J&K like Maharashtra, Gujrat. He also called upon for adoption of Right of cutting delays and better utilization of huge funds being provided by the centre for development and welfare of people of the state. He termed the J&K State’s Right to information Act “As tooth less, saying that it is just a mockery and eyewash”. He himself will head the committee with S. Mohinder Sigh, Advocate as convener with eleven members. Giving a Clarion call to people of all sections, religions to get associated with Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) which has a definite road map for strengthening peace process, eradication of corruption at high places, giving boost to development, balance development of all three regions and ensuring proper and effective utilization of thousands of crores of rupees being provided by the center to the state every year.
