Ramnavmi celebrated with religious fervour in Rajouri under tight security

Rajouri, Apr 1: The pious festival of Ramnavmi which marks the end of Navratras was celebrated with religious fervour and holiness in various parts of Rajouri under tight security. People of Hindu community paid homage in temples and other shrines. A major jagran was organized yesterday night in the temple of Santoshi Mata Mandir Palma while Bhandara was organised today in the temple in which hundreds of people took part. Similar type of religious programme was also organised in the Shiv Pariwar cave situated in the Mankote Thandikassi area about 5 km away from district headquarter. In the temple of Bholi Mata Jawahar Nagar, after performing Aarti, Jhanki was carried out in which hundreds of people took part. Reports of religious programmes on the eve of Ramnavmi have reached from several others temples and shrines including Mangla Mata Mandir Tandwal, Doodhadari Ashram Rajouri, Shiv temple Mankote and others. However the major programme was today organised under the supervision of Sanatam Dharam Sabha Committe in Rajouri city. Aarti was performed in the wee hours of the morning after which Jhanki was carried out in which hundreds of people from city and peripheral rural areas took part. Starting from Sanatam Dharam Sabha, the Jhanki enrouted from main city market and city chowk and then reached Bus Stand from where it came back to Sanatam Sabha where it ended. Along with other arrangements, security was also tightened up by administration to create peaceful atmosphere. Along with heavy deployment of police and paramilitary forces, officials of police also kept rounding the area. Newly appointed SP Rajouri, Mubassar Latiffi also reviewed security situation by making round of city. Talking with reporters he congrated and wished people on the eve of Ramnavmi and stressed upon for cultural harmony and brotherhood.
