UDAAN' takes off at University of Jammu

Jammu, Apr 1: University of Jammu today organised TCS (walk-in) culminating into Campus Placements for TCS BPO Services. The Campus Visit was coordinated by the Office of Dean Students Placement ( Placement Cell)
University of Jammu, Jammu under Project 'UDAAN' of the J&K Govt. The Placement drive was facilitated and conducted by TCS recruitment team comprising of Faiz Sir Khot, Head Sourcing, Usman M.A, Head
Recruitments Channai, Mirdual Chakravoraty, Head Recruitments Kolkata, Jaishanker, Manager,TCS, and Mehul Desai, Team leader, TCS.
Faiz in his interactive presentation about TCS informed that TCS welcomes fresh perspectives and young minds with new energies and a passion to excel. They aim at providing opportunities to groom
individuals into world-class professionals and have geared up their efforts at reaching out to talent across India. While throwing light on BPO services at TCS, he stated that it is about managing and executing business operations. Further, TCS domain expertise helps deliver core business processing across industries,
analytics and insights, and supports processes such as accounting, HR and supply chain management. Faiz also clarified the queries of participating students with regard to issues of competency building, career path and growth prospects at TCS for students across all disciplines.
The session was presided over by Prof. Mohan Paul Singh Ishar Vice-Chancellor, University of Jammu, Jammu. In his address, Prof. Ishar lauded the initiative of Central and State Govt for Project UDAAN.
He extended his good wishes to the participating students and hoped that several of them shall qualify. Earlier, Prof. Neelu Rohmetra, Dean Students Placement and the Coordinator for Project UDAAN on behalf of University of Jammu welcomed the TCS team and the participating students. She also informed that recently the Office of
Dean Students Placement, JU has been entrusted with the responsibility to function as the 'Resource Centre' (Nodal Office-UDAAN) for Jammu Province. The TCS (Walk-in) visit is one such initiative in that context.
About 375 graduate students across disciplines(Arts, Life Sciences, Commerce, Physical Sciences, Engineering, Management, Computer Sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Aviation etc.) from various
colleges and institutions of Jammu Province turned up for the Walk-in. About 140 students appeared for the interview after qualifying the screening test. Besides, about 150 post-graduate students/ working professionals participated in the process and submitted their CVs for consideration for various positions at TCS.
TCS recruitment team appreciated the young minds of Jammu University and the region for qualifying in such large numbers. Imran Farooq,Rajneesh Sharma, Shilpa Chaku and Irfan Goni liaisoned with TCS for the event and the process involved.
