| HC directs DHS to relieve petitioners within 7 days | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, April 1 : The high court has directed director health services (DHS), Jammu, to relieve Dr Khushbu Gupta and Dr Shikha Sharma with seven days.
The court directive came in a petition filed by Dr Khushbu and Dr Shikha, assistant surgeons in directorate of health services, Jammu, who had been appointed as registrars in gynaecology and obstetrics department for three and two years respectively.
Both were required to join their new places of posting within 21 days from the date of issuance of order dated March 20 last. Their grievance was that DHS, Jammu, who was the competent authority to relieve them was not relieving them as a result of which they might lose the chance.
Justice Mohammad Yaqoob Mir issued notice to the state through health commissioner/secretary, GMC Principal, DHS, Jammu, and chief medical officers of Jammu and Poonch returnable within four weeks. The court ordered that DHS, Jammu, would ensure that the petitioners were relieved within seven days.
