ET staffer not allowed to move towards office at Jewel ahead of Azad rally
4/1/2012 11:25:11 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu Apr 1: Virtually making Jewel, where union health minister Ghulam Nabi Azad was to address a public rally today, out of bounds for commoners and journalists, the men in khaki sealed all entry and exit points to the area.
The rally venue is close to Early Times office. When an ET staffer and senior journalist was moving towards the office, the cops stopped him and did not allow him to move forward.
Though he told them that he had an important assignment at office, all in vain. The incident took place at about 10.30 am, about two hours before the scheduled arrival of Azad.
The cops also checked the identity card of the ET staffer but said they were helpless to let him move towards his office as their seniors had directed them to make the VIP route out of bounds for all. Not only this, the cops also deflated the tyres of two scooters of ET staffers which were parked outside the office.
