Jammu: Two hundred and fifty pilgrims from Chhattisgarh, who were on their way to Bhuda Amarnath shrine, have been caught by Railway Protection Force for allegedly travelling in a train without tickets, officials said today.
The RPF has taken into custody 250 passengers, who arrived in Himigiri Express from Jalandhar, on an information provided by the Jalandhar railway authorities, they said.
They were caught last evening at the railway station here, they said adding that all passengers were from Chhatisgarh. Later, the passengers were released after slapping a fine of Rs 9,350, they said.
