| PDP Youth wing holds protest against JKCA scam | | | Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, Apr 2: Demanding action against the multi-crore scam in Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA), a large number of activists of youth wing of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) staged a massive demonstration at Ganderbal today.
The protest was led by PDP youth general secretary Engineer Nazir Ahmed Yatoo, youth leader Sheikh Bilal Ahmed and Ab Waheed.Hundreds of protesters shouted slogans against National Conference government, JKCA president Dr Farooq Abdullah and JKCA Chairman Aslam Goni.
PDP youth wing activists demanded that like Suresh Kalmadi, action should also be taken against JKCA president Dr Farooq Abdullah and Chairman of JKCA M Aslam Goni against whom Members of JKCA itself have demanded for filing of FIR.
The procession of PDP youth wing activists passed through different lanes of Ganderbal town which later converted into a big rally.
Addressing party activists, PDP youth wing general secretary Engineer Nazir Ah Yatoo said that the documents clearly reflect that a whopping amount was fraudulently withdrawn from the account of the JKCA with the consent of Dr Abdullah.
He said that documents of Jammu and Kashmir Bank also established involvement of Dr Farooq Abdullah and M Aslam Goni in the scam and it was need of the hour to properly investigate the whole scandal. He said that to ensure proper investigation in this case, it was necessary to take action against both of them.
Yatoo regretted that youth of Jammu and Kashmir have been agitating to get basic facilities in sports especially in cricket but the huge amount sanctioned by the BCCI for promotion of cricket has been brazenly pocketed by those who are managing affairs of JKCA.Yatoo alleged that in order to divert the issue Goni has been deputed to South Africa instead of filing FIR against him. |
