Azad dedicates Indira Gandhi park to Jammu people

JAMMU, Apr 2: Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad has advised the people to utilize their spare time for exercise and walk in the open recreational parks which are being developed by the Government across the cities and towns for their well being. Azad said this while addressing a large gathering after dedicating one-kilometer long modern line Indira Gandhi Green Belt Park at Housing Colony at Channi Himmat, here today.
He called upon the people to make their surrounding areas hygienic and pollution free adding that such type of practices not only provide healthy atmosphere but also give good impact to the visitors.
For providing better medicare facilities to the people, he said the Super specialty hospital at Resham Colony is nearing completion and would be dedicated to the Jammuties within three months.
He said Union Health Minister has approved Rs. 100 crore for construction of one Maternity hospital at Jammu and Kashmir adding that the project are under progress on war-footing and would be handed over to the people within one year with latest techniques equipments.
In his address, Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand said that Government has geared up officers for retrieving State land from the land grabbers.
He said Government has prepared a comprehensive plan to utilize retrieved land at various places for the construction of social infrastructure and Government assets.
Appreciating the efforts of Health Ghulam Nabi Azad, he said Azad has sanctioned several prestigious projects for the people of Jammu. Speaking on the occasion, Minister for Relief, Rehabilitation and Revenue Raman Bhalla thanked the Union Minister on the dedication of such place to the people of his home constituency. Keeping in view the beautification of the road dividers from Kunjwani to Sidhra stretch, he said NHAI authorities are on job to plant ornamental saplings, landscaping, besides installation of lights adding that a detailed project of Rs. 6 crore has been prepared for this purpose adding that the beautification works are under progress on the sites.
