Ashok Koul appointed BJP General Secy (Org) | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Apr 2: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced the appointment of Ashok Koul as new Organizational General Secretary (Sangathan Mantri) of the party here today. The announcement of Koul's appointment was made in the presence of National General Secretary (Org.) Ram Lal, State President Shamsher Singh Manhas, State Prabhari Jagdish Mukhi and other senior leaders. Later, Ram Lal and Jagdish Mukhi presided over a series of meetings of state office bearers, senior party leaders, MLAs, District and Morcha presidents. During the morning meeting which lasted nearly four hours, Ram Lal received a detailed reporting of party activities from each district during the last few months.He also received reporting of different party cells and morcha. Number of constituencies in each district, number of Municipal Bodies in each district and composition of polling booths in districts were taken up for detailed discussion.While the district presidents provided data from their respective districts, Ram Lal offered his opinion and advice on the same. In the post lunch session, Ram Lal discussed important issues of concern with party leaders and activists. These included forthcoming Municipal elections, the issue of BJP MLAs being discriminated in matter of allotting time to speak by the assembly speaker and organizational matters including future programme to be taken up by the party in different parts of the state. Speaking on the occasion, Shamsher Singh Manhas said that the party activists in Jammu and Kashmir have to face more challenges as compared to other parts of the country. In J&K, every now and then, such developments take place which pose threat to the survival of nationalists as well as unity and integrity of the state with Indian union. |
