Eleven gun licences cancelled by DM Jammu | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Apr 2: Today Continuing with its drive against notorious criminals who had managed gun licenses, Jammu Police succeeded in short listing notorious/hardcore criminals and got the licences of fire arms issued to them revoked/ cancelled by recommendation to the District Magistrate Jammu. An official spokesperson stated that District Magistrate (DM) Jammu issued formal orders for the revocation of gun licences of eleven licensees with criminal background who were involved in murder, attempt to murder, thefts and other criminal cases in Jammu District upon the strong recommendation of District Police Office Jammu. Revocation of the licenses of fire arms included Varinder Gupta S/O Banarsi Dass Gupta R/O Talab Tillo Jammu, a notorious criminal/land grabber involved in murder, attempt to murder, land grabbing cases and other criminal cases; Mangat Singh @ Magta S/O Lochan Singh R/O Bomal Akhnoor, Jammu, a history sheeter who had remained involved in attempt to murder and other cases; Rattan Singh @ Ratto S/O Bittu Singh R/o Bomal Tehsil Jammu, a history sheeter who remained involved in attempt to murder and theft cases; Kuldeep Singh @ Makhoo S/o Munshi Singh R/o Galwaday Chak, Kana Chak, a history sheeter involved in murder and attempt to murder cases; Madan Lal S/o Krishan Lal R/o Mohalla Partapgarh Jammu A/P Gandhi Nagar Jammu, involved in cheating and fraud cases; Ranjit Singh S/O Harpal Singh R/O Bhour Camp Jammu involved in attempt to murder and other cases; Mohd Rashid S/o Chirag Din R/o Sumbli Tehsil Samba facing trial in murder case; Bashir Ahmed S/O Kutab Din R/o Chowadi Jammu facing trial in murder case; Pawan Sharma S/o Ram Paul Sharma R/o Karloop Jammu, involved in cheating and other criminal cases; Rashpal Singh S/o Sansar Singh R/o Malpur Jammu, who remained involved in murder, attempt to murder and other criminal cases and Tatinder Singh S/o Amar Singh R/o Bhour Camp Jammu involved in attempt to murder and other heinous cases. The revocation/ cancellation of fire arm licences has been ordered by the DM Jammu upon the strong recommendation after proactive and extra ordinary preventive steps taken by District Police Jammu in order to deter the persons with criminal background from further illegal activities affecting the public peace and tranquillity. Meanwhile concerned SHOs have been ordered to immediately take over the possession and retention of the Arms of the subjects who have also been directed to surrender their licences to the Issuing Authority. |
