| Cultural Academy celebrates Republic Day | | | Jammu | Jan 24 Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages organized MUSICAL BONANZA on the eve of Republic Day Celebrations in which renowed artists from Punjab participated and kept the audience spell bound for over two hours. In this programme, Lt. Gen.(Retd.) S.K. Sinha PVSM, the Governor of Jammu and Kashmir State was the Chief Guest, whereas Ist lady Premini Smah was also present on the occasion. While welcoming the Chief Guest and the jampacked audience, Dr. Rafeeq Masoodi, IBS, Secretary, J&K “Academy of Art, Culture and Languages congratulated the audience for Republic Day – 2007 hoping that Art, Culture and Languages can play a vital role to unite different sections of the society in one rope which is instrumental for bringing everlasting peace in the society. Further giving a brief resume of Literary and Cultural Activities under the Cultural Academy, he said that constant efforts are afoot to organize these activities in cities of Jammu and Srinagar but also in different parts of the State including far-flung areas to promote Art, Culture and Languages adding that on 28th January,2007, an All India Urdu Mushaira is being organized by the State Academy in which Urdu Poets by Nationally and Internationally repute are participating which will be followed two days Dogri Literary conference on 3rd and 4th of February, 2007. The Musical event organized by the cultural Academy was presented by Garima Visions, Mohali under the directions of R.P. Singh. The Artists who participated in the programme are Kulbir, Bhupinder Babbal, Avtar Tari, and Ms. Rupinder Rupi. The programme was choreographed by Jatin. T.R. Sharma, KAS, Additional Secretary, J&K Cultural Academy, Jammu presented vote of thanks whereas Rajni Sharma Anchored the programme.
