| Dr Indu Khoda inaugurates PWWA Sports Meet 2012 v Lohia, Aggarwal duo clinches badminton title | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU,Apr 3: The duo of Seema Aggarwal and Madhu Lohia today clinched the badminton doubles title by defeating the pair of Ruby Kour and Ritu Rekhi in ther summit-clash of the PWWA Sports Meet 2012, being organized by Police Wives Welfare Association atPolice Lines, here.
Earlier, Dr Indu Koul Khoda was the Chief Guest on the inaugural Ceremony, who inaugurated the event in an impressive function
In the title-clash, Seema Kour and Madhu Lohia scripted aconvincing win over Ruby Kour and Ritu Rekhi by a big margin of 13 points, whenthe final score read 21-08 in their favour.
Earlier, Ruby-Ritu duo trounced Anita-Preeti pair, whileSeema-Madhu pair out played the pair of Sundri and Ruksana in the semifinal clashes.
A total of sixteen shutllers participated in this badminton doubles event in 8 pairs.
The pairs included K Vijaya and T Choral, Seema Aggarwal and Madhu Lohia, Ruby Kour and Ritu Rekhi, Esther William and SangeetaBhat, Sharminder Johar and Bhavana Singh, Sundri Yadav and Ruksana Beigh, Anitaand Preeti Gupta and Jyoti Jamwal and Radhika Sharma.
The matches were officiated by badminton coach Satpal Sharma, Vasu Bhagat, Aman Badyal andSunil, while the programme was coordinated by Rajesh Gill and the proceeding of the programme was conducted by Rajesh Dhar.
Earlier, in her address, the Chief Guest Indu Khoda said thatthis event, which apart from badminton will witness basketball competition, besides hurdle race, spoon-lemon race and three legged race, is the first of its kind organized by Police Wives Welfare Association.
The other participants include Neelam Gupta, Gurmeet Kour, NeenaPuri, Meena Gupta, Sharda Gupta,, Mrs Romesh Koul, Bhuvnash Gupta, Swarna Jamwal, Heseena Wani, Seema Sharma, Rukhsana Kousar, Yasmeen and Pooja Wazir. |
