BJP disrupts train service for 25 minutes | | | Early Times Report Kathua, Apr 3: BJP Kisan Morcha disrupted train service for 25 minutes and theyprotest against the UPA government for anti farmer policy at Kathua Railway Station today here. Speaking on the occasion BJP State Kissan Morcha President Karan Singh theUPA government has failed to implement the M S Swaminathan report, which was constituted during the NDA rule led by Atal Behari Vajpayee. They demanded that farmers should be given bonus of Rs 500per quintal on wheat. While BJP Kisan Morcha have decided to observe 'RailRoko' in several states. Nearly 200 activists assembled at Railway Station Kathua and stopped two trains Swaraj Express (Jammu-Mum bai) and Tata Moori for about 25 minutes before police rushed to the spot and dispersed the protestors from tracks. The protesters are demanding Rs 500 per quintal as bonus over and above the Minimum Support Price of Rs 1,285 per quintal of wheat for current season. They ruled that the MSP was not adequate to recover farmer's input cost. |
