| Employees go on strike demanding revival of Singer India unit | | | Early Times Report
Jammu Apr 3: The Federation of Unions of Industrial Workers (FUIW) stday started its agitation demanding restart of Singer India Ltd. (SIL) Unit at Bari Brahmana, Jammu. The first phase of agitational path has been started by Staging Dharna in front of Press Club Jammu today in which the Industrial Workers from Kathua, Construction Worker \s from Udhampur , Workers of Bari Brahmana and ,Jammu also sat on Dharna to express solidarity with workers of SIL.
Nirdosh Uppal President of FUIW said that the State Govt. rejected the permission to SIL, for its closure vide SRO 237 of 2005 and retrenchment of Workers vide SRO 238. Nirdosh Uppal said FUIW expresses grave concern over delaying tactics being used by the State Govt. not to provide legally admissible relief and an attempt to keep dysfunctional to support needs and aspirations as well as a conspiracy to deny livelihood to hundreds of Workers and their Dependents. |
