| 24 Deodar sleepers seized, two brothers among three held | | | Doda | Jan 24 Three persons were arrested by Doda Police for smuggling 24 sleepers of Deodar in Hadyal area of Kishtwar this afternoon. Meanwhile, Gandoh police have also solved a theft case in which 25 sheep were stolen from a house at Gandoh some twenty days back. According to reports, Doda police booked specific information that some persons were smuggling Deodar sleepers in the area. Acting on tip, a police team immediately rushed to the spot and arrested three persons and seized 24 Deodar sleepers from their possession. The arrested persons have been identified as Ashok Kumar, son of Naib Chand of Hadyal, Mohd Rafi and Sadar Din both sons of Mahie resident of Potinag. All the arrested persons were later shifted to police station for further interrogation to know about their other associates and activities. Meanwhile, a case in this regard has also been registered in this regard registered in Police Station Kishtwar. Meanwhile, Gandoh police also solved a theft case in which 25 sheep were stolen from the house of one Noor Mohammed. The alleged thief has been arrested by and only seven out of the 25 stolen sheep were recovered from his possession. The theft was committed on the intervening night of January 3-4. The alleged thief has been identified as Abdul Majid son of Din Mohd Mir of Chiralla, Thathri.
