| Upgrading of depleted Budha Amarnath - Chandak Road before yatra demanded | | | Early Times Report
Poonch Apr 3 : Locals demand improving of Budha Amarnath - Chandak Road and implementation discussion in the last DDB meeting about Chandak Budha Amarnath Mandi road as the District Administration yet has failed to take initiative to improve the condition of this road. People of Poonch demanded black toping of road before annual Budha amaranth yatra.
Locals recalled that during DDB meeting was held in July 2011, large number of decisions were taken, and the meeting chaired by Minister for Medical and Technical Education R S Chib passed directions to the concerned PWD authority for executing black topping work over 9 km long Baba Budha Amarnath Mandi to Chandak road on fast track basis but it's a surprising that this work has not been executed despite the last fiscal year closed on March 31.
Local lamented that besides Shri Budha Amarnath shrine other religious places where devotees are facing problems including Sian Ilahi Baksh Ziarat and etc, but it seems, that authorities are least concerned promoting religious tourism in the region.
"Due to the pathetic condition of the road, majority of devotes and tourists fail reach to your destinations," said, Prithpal Singh, an educationist. |
