Efforts afoot to fill up all vacancies of doctors / para-medicos in Lolab: Rather | Assembly-2012 | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Apr 3 : Minister for Finance, Abdul Rahim Rather, on behalf of Health Minister today informed the Legislative Assembly that in view of the paramount importance of healthcare, the health department is making every possible effort to provide qualified number of doctors and para medical staff in the government hospitals all over the state, including the Lolab constituency. However, there is some shortage of doctors in health institutions in Lolab constituency. To overcome the deficiencies of staff, the government has engaged sufficient staff temporarily under NRHM to improve and health care services in the Lolab area. The Minister further informed the House that all the vacancies of doctors and para medical staff, which become available from time to time, are being promptly referred to the concerned recruiting agencies, viz the Public Service Commission (PSC) and the Service Selection Board. It is a known fact that these recruiting agencies, particularly the PSC are making selection on fast tract basis. However, due to non-availability of candidates belonging to the relevant reserved category posts remained vacant. The department has been making continued and vigorous efforts to overcome the shortage of both medical and para-medical staff and as soon as the select lists of candidates against the vacancies becomes available, their deployment shall be promptly made to augment the manpower in various health institutions all over the state including the Lolab constituency, the Minister maintained. |
