| Muharam processions held in Shiite dominate areas in valley | | | Srinagar, January 24 The Muharam processions are being held in valley and Shiite dominated areas are decorated with black fags and banner on which words of great tribute of the martyrs of Karbala are written. As a part of ongoing Muharam celebrations, special religious congregations are being held in Imam Badas during which the religious scholar deliver sermons on the martyrs of karbala and thousands of Shiite muslims including men, women and children pay their tributes to martyrs of Karbala. The biggest Muharam congregations were held at Pattan, Higam, Magam, Anderkote, Gongu Pulwama, Balhama, Cattergam, New Khanda and Devsar Bala Anantnag. The Muharam processionists will be take out in different parts of valley till 10 th of Muharamam during which procession of Alam Sharief and Ashura will be taken out on 6 th and 10 day of Muharam respectively. Meanwhile a muharam procession led by Agha Syed Hassan Budgamiu was take out from Hamdani Colony to Khomeni Chowk. Senior Hurriyat leaders Nayeem Ahmed Khan and Dr Gh Mohd Hubbi also participated in the procession and appealed people to maintain religious brotherhood.
