Bovine smuggling bids foiled, 3 held | | | Early Times Report JAMMU , Apr 4: Three persons were today apprehended by police at Ramban while they were trying to smuggle 16 bovine animals. Acting on the instructions of SP (Ramban) Anil Magotra, police laid nakas in Gool and Ramsoo areas. At Gool, two bovine smugglers were apprehended from near Tata Pani along with 10 bovine animals. The accused were identified as Tanveer Ahmed, son of Ghulam Ahmed Shah and Shah Faisal, son of Mubarak Shah, both residents of Gundi Gagar Sulla. In another incident, a police party intercepted a Tata Mobile (JK02U/3090) at Ramsoo and recovered six animals from it. One person was arrested in this regard. He was identified as driver Manzoor Ahmed, son of Abdul Ghani Gujjar of Parnot, Ramban. The accused were booked under sections 188 of RPC and 3 of PCA Act at Gool and Ramsoo police stations. It is pertinent to mention here that Ramban Police has succeeded in registering 21 cases of bovines in a short span of time, in which 256 bovines have been recovered and 33 bovine smugglers have been arrested so far. Investigation into the cases is in progress and efforts are on to apprehend more culprits. |
