Inter-department cricket tourney of JU Law School makes it easy against Statistics | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 4 : The Law School today made it an easy nine-wicket win over Department of Statistics in the ongoing inter-department cricket tournament of University of Jammu here. Batting first after winning the toss, Statistics set a target of 124 runs losing all their wickets in 19.5 overs of the given 20 overs game, which, in reply, Law School chased in 14.1 overs for the loss of just one wicket. Sandeep was top scorer with 33-ball 41 runs while Raja and Sunny contributed 39 and 12 runs respectively. From Statistics, Aauman and Yashbardhan took three wickets each while Satyam bagged two and Sahil one. Later, Law School attained the goal for the loss of one wicket sparing 5.5 overs of their innings. Farukh played impressive cricket contributing 55 runs off 39 balls studded with nine boundaries. Sahil added 40ball 45 runs to the total. Meanwhile, in another scheduled match, Department of Urdu trounced Department of Political Sciences by six wickets. Earlier, Political Sciences batting first, after winning the toss, made 135 runs for eight wickets. In reply, Department Urdu chased the total in 19.1 overs for the loss of four wickets. Mubasar and Arshed played match winning innings of 44 and 36 runs. From Political Sciences, Abdul and Narinder as also Sahkeel took one wicket each. |
