| Chess tourney begins at Patnitop | | | JAMMU, Apr 4: Ramit Memorial All India Open Fide Rating Chess Tournament got underway today at hill station of Patnitop in district Udhampur. Organised by All Jammu and Kashmir Chess Association, the event is being held under the aegis of All India Chess Federation.
In all, there are 40 participants competing in this event which was declared open by Association president, Atul Gupta and secretary, Baldev Raj. The inaugural match was played between International Master, Himanshu Sharma and promising Arushi Kotwal (Asian schools U-7 gold medalist) of J&K. The participating of the competition belong to Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Delhi, Karnataka, West Begnal and host J&K. |
