Governor Lt. General (Retd) S K Sinha today administered oath of office to Mr Justice Bashir Ahmed Khan as Chief Justice of Jammu and Kashmir High Court.
Justice Khan was the acting Chief Justice of the High Court.
Chief Minister, Mr Ghulam Nabi Azad, Chief Justice of Himachal Pradesh High Court, Mr Justice V K Gupta, Chairman, Legislative Council, Mr Abdul Rashid Dar, Speaker Legislative Assembly, Mr Tara Chand, cabinet ministers, legislators, judges of High Court and subordinate judiciary, advocates besides senior officers including Chief Secretary Mr C Phunsog were present at the swearing in ceremony.
Principal Secretary to Governor, Dr Arun Kumar initiated the proceedings while Registrar General of Jammu and Kashmir High Court, Mr Hasnain Masoodi read out the warrant of appointment signed by President Dr A P J Abdul Kalam. |
