3rd Rajiv Gandhi Memorial T20 Cricket Tournament | Lions Club trounces Young Star by 3 wkts | | early times report JAMMU, Apr 5: Lions Cricket Club outplayed Young Star Cricket Club by 3 wickets to move into the next round of the ongoing 3rd Rajiv Gandhi Memorial T20 Cricket Tournament, being held at MA Stadium, here. Earlier, Young Star Club after winning the toss and electing to bat, scored a good total of 149 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Yogesh top scored with 29-ball 39 runs including 6 boundaries, while Yudhamanyu contributed 29 runs in 26 balls with the help of one boundary. Chetan and Gurcharan also contributed 20 and 19 runs to the total respectively. For Lions Club, Rahul Sunny, Kundan and Veenal claimed one wicket apiece. Lions Cricket Club, in reply chased the target in 19.4 overs by losing 7 wickets in the process, thus won the match by 3 wickets. Veenal (36), Sumit (33), Kunal (21) and Nikhil (13) were the main contributors. Raghav was pick of the bowlers for Young Star, who captured 4 wickets, while Gurcharan took 2. Rattandeep Sharma and Shivam claimed one wicket each. Veenal of Lions Cricket Club was adjudged man of the match for his all-round performance. The match was officiated by Rajinder Singh and Vijay as umpires, while Sohail acted as the scorer, while the tournament is being organized by Young Star Cricket Club under the supervision of Chaman Lal, former Corporator, Ankush Abrol, Rajesh Dhar, Vikram Singh and Shashi Pal, organizing secretary. |
