Two held with brown sugar from Thathri | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Apr 5: Police have apprehended two youth from Thathri bridge abut 190 kms from here along with 900 grams of brown sugar valuing worth over Rs 1 crore in international market. When contacted SHO Thathri Sajjad Haider Chib said that acting on a tip off about the smuggling of narcotic substance, Thathri police under the supervision of SSP Doda Mohammad Arif Rishu laid a Nakka near Thatri bride and zeroed in on two suspected persons who were identified as Tanveer Ahmed of Fiksoo Thathri and Kafit-ul- lah of Tipri Thathri. Chib said that during the search of both the persons, police found a packet of narcotics (Brown sugar) concealed inside the leather bag. He said that on the bases of the recovery police registered an FIR No: 19/2012 under NDPS Act and produced both the accused before the court which granted 6 days police remand of the duo. Police is also ascertaining the involvement of some other persons in smuggling of narcotics in the area, SHO Chib added. |
