KPC condemns non- passage of KP Shrine bill | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Apr 5: Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) has vehemently condemned and criticized the ruling as well as opposition political parties of the J&K state for not passing the KP Shrine and Temple Bill during the budget session of the Assembly. Addressing his party activists and supporters, KPC president Kundan Kashmiri said that it indicated that these political parties are not serious towards the problems and demands of KP community. He said that passage of KP Shrine and Temple Bill in the State Assembly was an important and genuine issue as it was deeply involved with the religious sentiments of KPs. Further expressing his dismay over the issue, KPC chief state that delaying the passage of KP's Shrine and Temple Bill in the state Assembly is politically motivated as well as to appease and oblige all those anti-KP forces, who do not want KPs return and religious institutions in the valley to be got preserved and protected. He warned the responsible political parties for their negative attitude, Step-motherly treatment and wrong policies towards K P community which would prove counter-productive for them in coming times. He said, although KP's have not a big vote bank, but their small number of votes has become a decisive and winning factor number of times for various contesting candidates of different political parties including National Conference (NC), in the valley as well as in Jammu. Highlighting the problem of displaced KP's Kundan Kashmiri, reiterated his demand to increase and enhance the relief from Rs 5000 to Rs 8000 per family per month. |
