Secular forces in state should be strengthened at all costs: NC | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Apr 5: Alleging BJP & PDP for their role to foment communal elements for meager political gains, the Provincial President NC Jammu, Rattan Lal Gupta (Advocate) today asserted that secular forces in the state should be strengthened at all costs for the larger interest of the nation to defeat such forces. Lambasting BJP & PDP for their role to foment communal elements for meager political gains and said BJP leadership is raising issues in Jammu Province which divide the secular forces and same role is being played by the PDP in Kashmir region. Appreciating the move of the condition government to hold ULB (Urban Local Bodies) elections in the state in view of its urgency to strengthen the basic democratic institutions of the state, he said these elections would ensure transparency and quality of developmental activities in the local bodies. Gupta was interacting with the various deputations at Sher-e-Kashmir Bhawan, Jammu. Earlier deputation of prominent NC leader headed by Rajesh Bakshi district President NC Jammu & Corporator Cantonment Board called on Rattan Lal Gupta (Advocate) Provincial President J&K National Conference Jammu Province to discuss various administrative and organizational issues. During the meeting the deputationists discussed G B Pantt Hospital Satwari Jammu and said established in 1988-89 the hospital failed to meet out the requirement of people of cantonment & adjoining areas. They also demanded this hospital should be taken by the state government as has been done in Kashmir so that this hospital becomes functional and its utility for the benefit of the locality. Those who accompanied Bakshi include; Sardar Parvinder Singh Block President, Sardar Prem Singh, S.S. Jamwal, Vivek Gupta and Bahadur Lal. |
