| Traders assault journalists in Jammu | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 5 : A group of traders today assaulted two media persons of a national news channel in this winter capital of the state.
Two journalists, including a cameraman of ETV Channel, were allegedly manhandled by a group of traders of Raghunath Bazar this afternoon while they were performing their professional duties. The journalists were shooting the clippings of the Raghunath market, which was objected by a group of traders. The traders, however, abused the journalists and later thrashed them in a full public view. A complaint was lodged with the police following which, police swung into action and registered a case against the traders.
"We have dispatched a team to apprehend the culprits, who managed to give the slip while a case has been registered," a police official said. The media fraternity had expressed resentment over the incident and sought action against the culprits. |
