NSF raises various issues of JU | | | early times report JAMMU, Apr 5 : The National Secular Forum (NSF) has accused the state government of shielding the teachers and officers of the University of Jammu (JU) who plundered the resources of the University and committed bungling. Addressing a press conference, NSF president Vikas Sharma said, "Chancellor had ordered inquiry into the financial bungling held in the University. The four-member enquiry committee headed by the Chief Secretary started the enquiry in the month of June last year. The report was submitted to the Pro Chancellor and the Chancellor in the month of December. Since then no action has been taken on the report". Sharma added that Government was trying to shield the corrupt officials and teachers of the University whose name figured in the enquiry report that's why no action has been taken on the report so far. The university resources were misused at will but, still the higher ups are not interested in punishing the guilty people, it's a sorry state of affairs. He demanded from the Chancellor to make the enquiry committee report public within days otherwise NSF would again launch agitation in this regard. He said three months have passed since the submission of enquiry report but it seems that the blue eyed corrupt officials have prevailed upon the State Government owing to which the guilty are being spared. Sharma said the student community has anger against the Government for not taking appropriate action. Among those who were present on the occasion included Sukdev Singh, Kamal-deep Singh, Sunil Kumar, Shafqat Malik and Ankit Raina. |
