Jammu records 33.50C, 40 above normal | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Apr 5: Sudden rise in mercury in the last couple of days is bothering weathermen in Jammu as the day temperature which was hovering around 25-290C in the last couple of days has suddenly crossed 330C. On Thursday mercury nearly touched 340C which was 4-50 C above normal temperature in the corresponding previous year. Last year the mercury during the same period hovered around 28-300C. Dr MK Khusu of SKUAST on Thursday said the mercury touched 33.50C,at least 40 higher than previous year temperature of 290 on the same day. Dr Khusu said if the same trend continued for few more days peak summers would set in early this year. Meanwhile, despite facing hot weather conditions during the day time the mercury dropped few degrees and dark clouds were hovering over the Jammu sky line coupled with high speed winds. |
