| Message from Lahore for Amitabh Bachchan | | Pak actress Meera speaks against Aishwarya Rai | | BL KAK NEW DELHI, JAN. 25 At a time when Bollywood super star, Amitabh Bachchan, and his parliamentarian wife, Jaya Bachchan, are seemingly busy finalising arangements for their son, Abhishek's upcoming marriage with the sizzling beauty, Aishwarya Rai, an unpleasant message has poured in from Lahore. It quotes Pakistan's famous actress, Meera, as saying that Aishwarya Rai "will prove to be such a stigma to the Bachchan family that could not be washed away even with the waters of Hindu's holy river Ganges". Expressing her "concern and love" for Indian icon Amitabh Bachchan, his wife Jaya and for their son Abhishek, Meera has said that it looked like Aishwarya had played her cards well to get close to the Bachchan family. And Meera's statement appearing even in a section of foreign print media: "Let me predict today that Aishwarya would be such a mark of disgrace to the Bachchan family that could never be washed away even with the holy waters of the Ganges". Meera went on to add that the "young, innocent and simple-hearted fellow" (Abhishek Bachchan) had fallen for the wrong person. Meera's finding: "He has been trapped and has taken the wrong decision for the rest of his life". Meera was also quoted as saying: "God knows what is wrong with the people in Pakistan who think so high of her (Aishwarya Rai) but in India, that girl has lost all respect for herself". Meera claimed that Aishwarya Rai had earlier been close to film stars, Salman Khan and Viveik Oberoi. And Meera's pointed question: "Isn't it strange that whosoever co-stars with her in one or two films, falls in love with the girl?" Crediting Devdas and Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam as Aishwarya Rai's "best" movies, Meera considers Aishwarya's performance in her latest movies Shabd and Dhoom-2 as "poor". Meera said: "She (Aishwarya Rai) has been unreasonably vulgar in these movies. Although I don't think obscenity, as a requirement of the movie, is immoral, yet Ms Rai has been unduly vulgar. She cannot come up to the mark of the likes of Shabana Azmi and Smita Patil".
