| Inferno at LAWWDA building | | | Srinagar, January 25
Panic gripped employees at the main office of Lakes and Waterways Development Authority (LAWWDA) office, when blaze erupted on third floor of the building which was completely gutted.
According to reports, blaze erupted on third floor of a building at Brein Nishat housed by LAWWDA main office at around 12.45 p.m. in the afternoon and the fire engulfed the whole building within no time.
Soon panic gripped employees in the office and they cam out from the building and informed local Fire Service Station immediately. The active sleuths of Fire and emergency Services department swung into action and did the fire fighting job to avoid large scale damage of the building.
Even half an hour fire fighting exercise of firemen could not prevent full-scale damage of the third floor of LAWWDA building. However no damage was done to office records. Police rushed to the trouble spot and registered a case in this connection. It is in place to mention here LAWWDA office was completely gutted in a similar fire incident last year.
