| R-day celebrations: Security tightened around Bakshi Stadium; fly over illuminated with electric lights | | | Srinagar, Jan 25
The republic day celebrations are being held amid tight security in valley, while 370 feet long fly over has been illuminated with electric lights.
According to reports, the main function will be held at Bakshi stadium Srinagar. All entry points leading to highly guarded venue of republic day function have been sealed.
It has been learnt that assistance of air force has been sought to ensure full security of the republic day venue, while big contingents of security forces have been deployed around the Bakshi Stadium. The deployed security personnel have been asked to maintain 24 hour long strong vigil in the area.
Meanwhile security forces and police have intensified patrolling in other areas of uptown and down town Srinagar. The security forces have erected barricades art many places and checking of vehicles and frisking of pedestrians has restricted movement of people in the area.
