NPSU protests delay in CUJ functioning | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Apr 7: National Panther Students Union (NPSU) held a strong protest demonstration outside Govt. Polytechnic College, Jammu against the State Govt. for deliberately delaying the functioning of Central University, Jammu. The protest was led by S. Manmeet Singh City President and Yogesh Singh President Govt. Polytechnic College. The protesters were raising slogans against the State Govt. for their step motherly treatment to Jammu region by ignoring the CU Jammu in the field of development, administration, education sector. Addressing the students Yogesh Singh Talwar said that the CUJ was sanctioned in 2009 and VC was appointed in the year 2011 due to dilly dallying tactics of the government. The students of Jammu region had to suffer a lot due to delay in VC's appointment. He said that the land has been identified by the Govt. but till date this land is not acquired by the Central University and no construction has been started. Addressing the Media persons, Partap Singh Jamwal, Provincial President, NPSU said that one year has gone, the CU administration has done little to ensure that the university starts functioning at the earliest. Jamwal said that the CU Administration is ignoring the candidates of Jammu region in appointments and outsiders are being preferred. Jamwal called upon the authorities to start full-functioning and construction of CUJ as soon as possible, otherwise NPSU will boycott the coming academic session from July. Others who were present in this protest included Pranav Sharma, Rahul Singh, Ketan Kumar, Gurjeet Singh, Abhi Dubey, Kartik Chib, Shariq Malik, Sachin Sharma, Bilal Wani, Bashir Hussain, Kavita, Dheeraj Singh and Parshotam Sharma. |
