Summer Club outplays Young Star by 3 wkts

Jammu , Apr 7: A superb batting display by skipper Raman Singh and a 4-wicket haul by off-spinner Dilbagh Singh helped Summer Cricket Club to defeat Young Star Cricket Club by 3 wickets in the ongoing Baisakhi Premier League T20 Cricket Tournament, being organized by Diamond Cricket Club at High School ground, Simbal Camp, near here. Batting first, Young Star Cricket Club bundled out for 104 runs as they lost wickets at regular intervals against the disciplined bowling attack of Summer Club bowlers, who created havoc in the rival camp. Airak Singh (25), AP Singh (22), Harvinder (14) and Kuku (11) were the main contributors for Young Star. For Summer Club, off-spinner Dilbagh Singh was the wrecker-in-chief, who scalped 4 important wickets by conceding 13 runs in his four overs, while Gagan Singh captured 2 and Tinku and Nipun claimed one wicket each. In reply, Summer Cricket Club started badly and lost 4 early wickets, but it was Raman Singh who consolidated the innings and scored unbeaten 36 runs before taking his side to home. Nipun also played a valuable knock of 18 runs in 20 balls, while Jagmohan and Ravi chipped in with 9 runs each. For Young Star, Gagandeep took 3 wickets, while Pankaj claimed 2. Dilbagh Singh was adjudged man of the match for his brilliant bowling display. The match was officiated by Gurmeet Singh and Kulvir Singh Kali as umpires, while Swarn Singh acted as the scorer. GS Micheal is the organizing secretary of the tournament.
It is pertinent to mention here that the winner of the tournament will be awarded a cash prize of rupees 25000, while runners-up team will receive rupees 12500 as cash award, besides attractive trophies and mementoes.
