| Hizb militant killed during encounter at Pattan | | Army claims recovery of arms and ammunition in Karnah sector | | Srinagar, Jan 25
A militant of Hizb-ul-Mujahideen outfit was killed during an encounter at Pattan, while army claims to have recovered huge cache of arms and ammunition in Karnah sector.
Any army spokesman told KNS that following a tip off, sleuths of 52 RR ambushed near Kralpora Wailu Pattan during which a militant passed though the area. Spotting the movement of troopers, the militant fired on troopers and tried to flee through a Nallah.
However the militant was killed, when troopers fired in retaliation. The deceased militant has been identified as Reyaz Ahmed Shah alias Nasir S/O Gh Mohi-ud-Din R/O Chakura Pattan. The recovery of one AK 47 rifle and some ammunition from his possession is being claimed.
Meanwhile army claimed to have busted a militant hide out in Batpora area in Karnah sector. The recovery of 50 Kg Rdx, one RPG launcher, 6 rockets, 84 UBGL grenades, one pistol magazine and 16 rounds of bullets from the hide out are being claimed.
