DWF demands regularization of daily wagers | | | JAMMU, Apr 8: Daliy Wagers of various departments under the banner of Daily Wagers Forum (DWF) expressed serious concern over the indifferent attitude of the State Government which has miserably failed to frame policy for regularization of daily rated workers who are working in various Government Departments for near about two decades. Addressing a press conference here today, Gurnam Slathia said that Government reached the agreement with employees representatives (JCC) on February 19, 2009, May 14, 2010 and September 15, 2011 but did not bother to implement the same. The administration entered into a written agreement with the leaders of JCC at Srinagar to prepare the list of the Daily Wager employees of all the departments for chalking out a regularization policy within three months. It was also declared that the policy regarding to be same would be announced by 31st of March, 2012, But to utter surprise and shock of these Daily Wagers, no action has been taken forwarded to redress their grievances. While addressing the Press Conference, the Union members strongly criticized the State Govt. for its anti- workers attitude. The Forum leaders unanimously decided to hold one day protest demonstration at Press Club Jammu on April 10 against the wrong policies of the coalition Govt. Leaders of the Forum demand immediate regularization of all the daily wagers who have completed their seven years or more service in any department, fixation of daily wages @ RS.250 per day overall the state to remove disparity amongst daily wagers and further issuance of district wise seniority list of daily wagers. The Forum warns the State Govt. not to play with the sentiments of the employees. |
