| Militant killed in Pattan | | | Baramulla, Jan 25
Army today claimed to have killed a militant in Kral Pura area of Pattan of Baramulla district of North kashmir.
Defence spokesman told News Agency of Kashmir that based on specific information about the presence of two armed militants in the area; troops launched cordon and search operation in the area. “When the troops closed down on the suspected hideout, militants opened fire which was retaliated by the troops” he said adding after a brief gun battle the militant was killed.
He said that one AK rifle, two grenades, two AK magazines and ammunition were recovered from the encounter site. Search operation was on to nab other militant. The identity of slain militant was yet to be ascertained. |
