Sham inaugurates 4th round of Shri Chandi Mata Bhajan competition

JAMMU, Apr 8: The 4th round of Shri Chandi Mata Bhajan competition was held today in the Mahajan Hall in whic 39 contestants from different parts of the State participated. Minister for Health, Horticulture & Floriculture, Sham Lal Sharma was chief guest on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister appreciated the endeavor of the Shri Chandi Mata Trust for organizing such impressive competition in the city of temples. He said this is an excellent platform for the budding artists to explore their talent and perform even at the national level. He hoped that the effort would go a long way in searching the hidden talent in girls and boys of Jammu.
The Minister said that Jammu occupies a significant place in the religious map of the country and is beibg thronged by lakhs of devotees who visit Shri Mata Vaishno Deviji and other famous shrines like Shiv Khori, Budha Amarnathji and Sudh Mahadev. To facilitate these pilgrims, the Government is making constant efforts besides exploring other areas of tourism potential in Jammu division. Wishing success to the management for showcasing the rich history of Shri Chandi Mata and construction of Shri Chandi Dham in Jammu, the Minister assured all possible support from the Government. Earlier, the Minister interacted with the participants and declared open the event with lighting of traditional lamp. A large number of devotees of Shri Chandi Mata from across Jammu division were present on the occasion.
Chairman of Shri Chandi Mata Trust, Shri Bansi Lal Gupta apprised that the Grand Finale of 6th round of the competition will be held on 29th April and the winners of 1st, 2nd and 3rd will be awarded a cash prize of Rs. 51,000, 31,000 and 21,000 respectively. Besides, there will be five consolation prizes of Rs. 2100 and 5 consolation prizes of Rs. 1100 for the runners up, he added.
Gupta also presented a Pratima of Shri Chandi Ma to the chief guest.
