| Appoint VC for SKUAST-J from state, demands NPSU | | | early times report
Jammu, Apr 8: National Panthers Students Union (NPSU) Jammu University wing has appealed to the Governor and Chief Minister to appoint new Vice Chancellor of SKUAST-Jammu from J&K state.
In a meeting of the NPSU held under the chairmanship of its state general secretary Varun Dev Singh, the activists stressed on the point that the panel constituted for this purpose had recommended many names, but it is in interest of state if VC appointed is from J&K state.
While speaking on the occasional Varun Dev Singh said that a scientist from the J&K will have better understanding of the agriculture production system, climate and topography.
He also mentioned that a person from the state will be in a better position to solve the problems existing in agricultural domain since the state is passing through a very crucial period where agriculture university vis-a-vis allied departments have to work in synergy to achieve the goal of agriculture growth of 2 to 3% as envisioned by the Governor and CM. |
