Distt. Kathua to have two artificial dams

Jammu, Apr 8: The Jammu and Kashmir government is setting up two artificial dams in Kathua district to create ground water recharging facilities in fields and provide drinking water to nomads. Two artificial dams are being constructed at Dabbi and Phangeri in Kathua district to create ground water recharging facilities to the fields, drinking water facilities for nomads and their livestock besides wildlife habitation, costing Rs 39 lakh, Minister for Forest and Environment, Mian Altaf Ahmad said. The Minister asked the district administration to get the land available fenced in the towns so that it could be saved from encroachment. He also directed officers to complete all projects under execution as per a fixed schedule
