Patwari, ex-girdawar among 3 held for running fake PRC racket | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Apr 8: A patwari and a retired girdawar were among three persons arrested by police at Bishnah for allegedly running a fake PRC racket. The matter came to the notice of police after one Ved Parkash, son of Relu Ram of Sarore, lodged a written report with Bishnah police station that retired girdawar Himmat Singh, son of Lacchman Singh of Ratnal and others had cheated him by getting prepared fake PRCs for his sons - Anil and Ashwani -- in lieu of a huge sum of money. Upon this, a case under sections 120-B, 467, 468, 471 and 420 of RPC was registered by Bishnah police. During investigation, SI Jaipaul Sharma busted the fake PRC by arresting Himmat Singh, patwari Ramesh Saini, son of Hans Raj of Chak Majra, and Dev Raj, son of Sanji Ram of Bishnah. Police sources said 16 blank PRCs, seven files and other incriminating material were seized from the accused at the time of their arrest. They allegedly charged Rs 3,000 to 4,000 per fake PRC, carrying signatures of the issuing authority. The investigation in the case was still on, the sources added. |
