JAMMU, Apr 8: Sree Cricket Club registered a narrow win by 3 wickets over Ishar XI to move into the next round of the ongoing, being organized by Diamond Cricket Club at High School ground, Simbal Camp, near here.
Earlier, Ishar XI after winning the toss and batting first bundled out for a meagre total of 121 runs in 18 overs off the stipulated 20 overs. Roshi was the top scorer with 34 runs, while Deepak Dogra and Sohail contributed 19 and 13 runs to the total respectively. Vikram was the pick of the bowlers for Sree Club, who took 3 important wickets in his 4 overs by conceding 22 runs, while Sohail and Kadiq claimed one wicket each.
Sree Club batsmen in reply played sensibly on otherwise a bowling friendly track and achieved the required target in the twentieth over by losing 7 wickets, thus winning the match by 3 wickets in a well fought match.
Chani and Vikram scored 21 runs each, while Vishal contributed 18 runs to the total. For Ishar XI, Saleem captured 3 wickets by giving away 21 runs in his 4 overs, while Deepak Dogra claimed 1/24 in his quota of 4 overs.
Vikram of Sree Cricket Club was adjudged man of the match for his all-round display.
The match was officiated by Gurmeet Singh and Kulvir Singh Kali as umpires, while Swarn Singh acted as the scorer. GS Micheal is the organizing secretary of the tournament. |
