JKNTUF warns of statewide stir from Apr 17 if demands not conceded with

JAMMU, Apr 9: J&K National Trade Union Front (JKNTUF) was held in front of office of Divisional Commissioner Panama Chowk Jammu to get the attention of State Govt towards the demands of employees and workers and warned state govt to concede to employees demands by April 17 or meet the consequences. Hundreds of activists J&K National Trade Union Front from different departments and various districts participated in the demonstration and raised slogans in favour of their demands. Employees were protesting against the adamant attitude of the state Government and its failure to honour its own agreement signed with the leaders of the JCC on 15th September 2011. The demands highlighted included Retirement age from 58 years to 60 years, Regularization of DRWs, Pay anomalies of various categories be removed and the Release the 7% DA in favour of employees.
Addressing the protesting employees Mohd Gafoor Dar, State President J&K NTUF condemned the delaying tactics of the State Govt. which has miserably failed to fulfill the promise of considering all the major three demands before 31st March 2012 which has left no alternative except to lunch a state wide strike. Dar stressed upon the Govt. to fulfill the demands before 17th of April 2012 otherwise face State level Strike of JCC of which J&K National Trade Union Front is major constituent.
