early times report
KATRA, Apr 9: President of Mazdoor-Pithoo-Pony Union Bhupinder Singh Jamwal today called on ADDC Reasi Rajinder Singh Tara and Deputy Director Local bodies Rakesh sangral in the Municipal Committee Office Katra to apprise them with the problems being faced by pithoos-ponywalas at Mata Vaishno Devi track.
Highlighting their issues Jamwal stressed upon stopping the pre-paid system and releasing of welfare fund that has still not been paid to the mazdoors from 1-2 years on one pretext or the other by the insurance companies.
President Singh lamented that in many cases Mazdoors failed to get their dues from pre paid counters despite repeated visits as committee employees come with a similar excuse that they don't have required cash-in-hand to pay. They also demanded settlement of welfare claims in case of accidental death of mazdoors or a pony on the bhawan track. Both ADDC R.S Tara and Deputy Director assured for an early settlement of cases as he would personally talk to insurance companies for their liquidation.
