| Question hour in LC | | | Jammu, Jan 25 Replying a clubbed questions by Mr. Nizam-ud-Din Bhat and Sofi Ghulam Mohammad, CAPD Minister Mr. Taj Mohi-ud-Din informed Legislative Council that government is very serious about traffic regulation on national highway and is taking every step to minimize the road accidents on national highway. He said for issuing licenses various multiple tests are being conducting before issuing a license to a driver. He further said that patrolling has been strengthened on national highway, speed is also being checked and challans are being imposed on the violators. He also said that the feasibility of plying of Tata Sumu on Srinagar-Jammu national highway will be assessed on the basis of expert advice which will be obtained. In reply to another question by Mr. Amrit Malhotra, the Minister for CAPD told the House on behalf of Chief Minister that State Vigilance Organization had scrutinized the records relating to engagement of Lecturers on contractual basis for Degree Colleges of Jammu and submitted its findings to the Higher Education Department. In reply to question by Mr. Nassurullah, Minister for Health and Medical Education, Mr. Mangat Ram Sharma informed the House that delayed in construction of three canals namely Rongwakha, Phosathang and Namlingthang canals in district Kargil were mainly due to limited working season and insufficient funds. He however, said that all these three canals will be completed during the current financial year.
