| Court awards 2 yrs imprisonment in theft case | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Apr 09: Special mobile magistrate electricity Balbir Lal Jaswal today awarded two years imprisonment to Kaku Ram, who was apprehended in 2002 for committing theft in a BSNL store at Jhajjar Kotli.
He was alleged to have stolen 10 JF cable, measuring about 1,200 metres. Acting on the complaint of BSNL SDE, Jhajjar Kotli police had registered a case against the accused who was arrested on March 19, 2010. The judge, after hearing the two sides, the judge convicted the accused and sentenced him for two years. A fine of Rs 1,000 was also imposed on him. Jaswal ordered that in default of the payment of fine, he would further undergo 15 days of imprisonment and both the sentence shall run separately. |
