Surgical, medical camp at Jourian

JOURIAN, Apr 9: Onkar Singh Memorial Trust in their ongoing surgical and medical camp is proving boon for the poor people of the villages who cannot afford money for surgical treatment of their various problems.
Team of Doctors from Delhi headed by Dr K S Charak from Nourgan Village of Bishnah are camping for entre week in Jourian Community Health Center where they have created a temporary Operation Theater with the help of Health Department of Jammu and Kashmir government .
About 600 patients visited the camp on the first day of the camp and from which patients for surgery were shortlisted and now Doctors of the camp are operating patients on two tables in the hospital now. "I am waiting for the camp for last few years now, I came to know that the SOS is organizing camp here in Jourian, I came all the way from Lala Chack from Bari Barhmana for the operation and today is my turn, being a shepherd we cannot afford operation, for us the camp is life saving ," Tilak Raj , a patient waiting for his turn in front of Operation Theater …
Keeping in view in the inflow of patients, residents of Jourian have organized a free food for the patients and attendants of the camp. "We have an arrangement for food and shelter for all of those who are coming from far flung areas. We are grateful to SOS that they have chosen Jourian for the second time to held camp in our hospital," said Darshan Singh Chib.
"The response of the patients is too much here so we are on touch with BMO Akhnoor and we have requested him if would provide us an additional operation theater at Akhnoor we would operate some of the patients there also. Our aim is to give benefits to the maximum people . We are thankful the health department and minister that they have open their resources for us which ultimately providing medical facilities to the poor people at their doorstep," Dr K S Charak.
