Dulloo inaugurates All India Sculptors Camp at Kala Kendra | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Apr 10: Seven day All India Sculptors camp at Kala Kendra, Jammu, took off here today with the inauguration of camp by commissioner/secretary, tourism and culture amongst the senior and reputed sculptors of the country. 12 sculptors from the state and outside the state are participating in the camp. Sculptors participating include Birj Paul Anand, Anish tickoo, Shabir Mirza, Sukhejjet Singh, Mohd Iqbal from the state and Gurdep Kumar from Baroda, Charanjeet singh from Chandigarh, Rajesh Kumar from Chandigarh, prof,. mir imtiyaz from JMI, Delhi, Neraj Kumar from Bhopal. The exhibition of the sculptures to be prepared during the camp day will be held on 16th which was thrown open by the Minister for tourim and Culture Nawang Rigzin Jora and Nasir Aslam wani, MOS Home. On the occasion sh. Dulloo, said that the state has rich and age old tradition of sculpture as this art is directly linked to the oldest civilization i.e Indus valley civilization . He further informed that the Banyan (Afgan) type Buddhi sculpture has been discovered in Zanskar area of Ladakh region which confirms states age old link with this art . Stating further that similar camp will be held at Ladakh in June/July this year. |
